It's been awhile

Haven't posted anything for nearly two years; I had high hopes for garnering the self-discipline to keep up a blog. Silly me. Anyway, at the present time, I am the Director of a 14-bed residential treatment center for boys. Been here a little over 90 days. It was a struggling program when I started. More about that later. Also, I have been a foster parent now for a little over 90 days. More about that later too. My new favorite bands these days are MUTEMATH and Blitzen Trapper. Got the opportunity to see Ozomatli live this summer @ a little club in STL called Blueberry Hill. Going to see Chicago Afrobeat Project on Saturday night with my GF/BFF. Currently reading a few books. Almost done with Prison Writings by Leonard Peltier, trying to get through Musicophilia by Oliver Sacks, just started A Warrior's Life (bio of Paulo Coelho) and just started A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. Been working about 60 hours a week lately trying to fix the program. I think I will start there next time, which will hopefully be soon. Peace, Kevin

The Beginning

Hello. Kevin here. This is intended to be my blog space for my thoughts about residential youth care work, counseling and psychotherapy, modern music, literature, movies, political science, and other stuff I am, was or will be passionate about.

Why "land of possibility"?--you ask. I believe in the power of possibility, and the potential for change and growth in all of us. And, with the recent election of Barack Obama, perhaps we are beginning an evolutionary process toward becoming a land of possibility.

More soon. Take care, and take care of each other.

Peace & Possibilities,

Kevin
